Riwaka Garage has become RG Automotive. Riwaka Garage was established in the early 1900s and has served the local community and visitors for nearly 100 years.

RG Automotive is now based in Lower Moutere.

Scott is a mechanic at Riwaka Garage near Motueka, NZ. We service and repair cars, trucks and campervans.

Rog is a mechanic at Riwaka Garage near Motueka. We service and repair tractor, sprayers and other agricultural machinery.

Our history (in Riwaka)

Riwaka Garage moved into local Ferguson family hands during1956. Originally owned and run by Jim and Dot Ferguson who then handed it on to Nev and Julia Ferguson.

In 2017 Nev and Julia sold the business to Shaun and Sheridan Brereton. Shaun had already been working at the garage for 15 years and so taking over the reins was a natural progression.

As important as it has always been, Riwaka Garage…

  • keeps local private cars well looked after for trips to Nelson and over Takaka Hill to Golden Bay

  • ensures local agriculture is able to work at peak efficiency with reliable machinery and tractors

  • handles the seasonal demands of New Zealand’s tourist industry from overseas visitors and the influx of holidaymakers to Kaiteriteri Beach from Christchurch.

 
Riwaka Garage is on State Highway 60 going north from Motueka and Nelson to Takaka and Golden Bay via Takaka Hill. We are also close to Kaiteriteri and Marahau.
